1. Overview

Fast Media Downloader ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Fast Media Downloader, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

URLs you submit: When you paste an Instagram URL and click Download, we receive and process that URL to resolve the media. We do not store these URLs after your session ends, except as noted below under caching.

Server-side caching: Resolved media URLs are cached on our servers for up to 20 minutes using an in-memory cache. This is done purely for performance — if multiple users request the same post within that window, the cached result is returned without re-fetching. Cached data is not persisted to disk and is discarded automatically.

IP addresses: Your IP address is logged temporarily for rate limiting purposes (to prevent abuse). We do not store IP addresses beyond the current session window.

Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics and, optionally, Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymous usage data: page views, referral sources, general device/browser type, and error rates. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individuals.

3. What We Do Not Collect

• Your Instagram credentials or account information
• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Payment information (the service is free)
• The media files you download — these stream directly from Instagram's CDN to your device
• Your download history beyond the current browsing session

4. Cookies

Fast Media Downloader does not set first-party cookies. If you have Google Analytics enabled (configured by the site operator via environment variable), Google Analytics may set its own cookies governed by Google's privacy policy. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and privacy-friendly.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel: Hosting provider. See Vercel's privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Instagram/Meta CDN: Media files are served from Instagram's CDN servers. By using Fast Media Downloader, you interact with Meta's infrastructure subject to Meta's terms.
• Google Analytics (optional): If enabled, subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Your Rights

Because we retain almost no personal data — no accounts, no persistent logs, no stored URLs beyond a short in-memory cache — there is typically little to access or delete. If you believe we hold information about you and would like to request access, correction, or deletion, contact us via the About page and we will respond as required by applicable law, including GDPR (EEA/UK) and CCPA (California) where relevant.

7. Copyright & DMCA

Fast Media Downloader only processes publicly accessible Instagram content at the request of the user submitting the link. We do not host, store, or distribute copies of downloaded media ourselves — files stream directly from Instagram's own servers to the user's device. If you are a rights holder and believe your content is being misused in a way that involves this service, contact us via the About page and we will review the request.

8. Children's Privacy

Fast Media Downloader is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
